884 \u20ac for everyone!<\/h2>\n

In Basetis we have joined the cause of Metges sense fronteres <\/a>(Doctors Without Borders) a total donation of 884 \u20ac<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A few months ago, I made a personal donation to this cause, as I explain below. I communicated this to the Basetis Social area and then a period was opened to invite workers to make their contributions. At the end of this period the donations had reached \u20ac<\/strong>260 <\/strong>\u00a0and then, Basetis, following its policy of social commitment, decided to multiply the contribution by a factor of 2.4. The company’s donation was \u20ac624<\/strong>, which added to the individual contributions, amounted to a total of \u20ac884.<\/p>\n

How did this donation come about?<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

Following our family’s resolution to make 3 donations a year, we decided that helping those in need to receive medical care was practically a duty.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When a human group is hit by war, violence or social instability, or the country in which they live is fragile due to lack of resources, the lack of access to health services becomes widespread: this means that many people will not be able to receive medical care when they need it, no matter how serious their condition is.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cThe care provided by our teams seeks to meet the most urgent needs, both at the different levels of medical care (from primary to hospital, including community care) and through activities with a high impact on health, such as those related to water and sanitation.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Neutrality, impartiality, non-discrimination, personal commitment and medical ethics. These are the values that define Metges sense fronteres<\/a>, and that every single person working in the organization, which operates in more than 70 countries, should make their own.<\/p>\n
